Skylarker was founded by Pip Jones in 2014, in Buckfastleigh, Devon.
Their mission is to support people’s joy, creativity and sense of connection.
Most recently, Skylarker have been funded by the Ragdoll Foundation and Doorstep Arts for an 18 month project with primary schools. The StoryExplorers perform to each class and run a series of workshops to bring a buzz and sense of excitement to literacy and storysharing.
Alongside these projects, The StoryExplorers have been performing outdoors, at festivals and events. They love the inclusiveness of outdoor performance, and the opportunities for improvisation, surprise, and
delight.
Pip studied Community Dance at the Laban Centre and Circus Theatre in Bristol. She then went on to devise a series of street theatre shows that fused dance, stilts and puppetry touring nationally and internationally for 10 years. Richard has worked for 10 years as a maker and puppeteer for John Robert’s internationally renowned Puppetcraft. In 2007 he founded Angel Heart Theatre, continuing to tour family puppet shows all over the UK.
